Shades cut from natural cloud stone, each one veined differently, set on a frame of gray aluminum with gold at the joints. Stone diffuses light in a way glass and acrylic cannot — the grain shows through when the fixture is lit, so it changes with the light behind it. The colour temperature is fixed warm, which is the correct decision above a counter.

The long six-head is the island fixture proper — under five inches wide, nearly four feet long, hung 30 to 36 inches above the counter and centred on the worktop rather than the room. The two-head is a single slim pendant for a breakfast bar, and two or three in a row work better than one. The round formats belong over a dining table; the two-layer version is over thirty pounds and needs a joist.
