Over a dining table, centre the 24″ ring on tables up to six feet and step up to the 31″ ring for anything longer, leaving around 30 to 34 inches between the diffuser and the tabletop. In a living room, hang it over the seating rather than the geometric centre of the room and keep at least seven feet of clearance underneath. The two-tier version reads best from nine-foot ceilings upward, where both rings stay visible.
