The 15.7-inch is sized for a kitchen island seat, a bedside or a home office; the 23.6-inch suits a dining table of about 48 inches or a living room seating group. Hang it 30 to 36 inches above a counter or tabletop. The cord height is adjustable at installation, so the same fixture works under standard and raised ceilings.
